“In Jason’s own words:
My band considers the halls of the Stone Mountain Arts Center to be a touchstone and a second home of sorts. While we’ve logged what seems like countless miles on stages across the country over the last 2 decades, we always consider it an honor to return to Brownfield where we feel equally comfortable blowing out a rowdy roots-rock tune with a full horn section as we do playing a hushed acoustic piece with 4 part harmonies.
We have unquestionably experienced some of our most memorable moments performing on the SMAC stage in recent years and I’m proud to report that we have managed to capture our last several performances at SMAC in full multitrack glory… thanks in LARGE part to the very talented and patient Pat O’Donnell. My bandmates and I will be mixing the results over the winter of 2022 and plan to release a collection of our favorite selections for this very special spring concert.
I had always wanted to record a live record that really captured the essence of this band. Regardless of where we perform, I feel like we’re a group of people who share the same vision with this project which is putting the song above all else. There is a time and place for chops and showboating but we all really make a concerted effort to let the spirit of the lyrics and the subtleties of the music and arrangements do the talking in this band. I can say without hesitation that the collective that is Stone Mountain… the venue, Carol, the staff, the FOOD, the legendary green room, the palpable warmth… has always let our music shine to its fullest potential and I can’t imagine a more fitting place to unveil our first true live record.
Please join us for this rare opportunity to see the band perform some of our favorite tracks from two decades worth of recordings along with some unreleased material and special guest performances as we present “The Jason Spooner Band – Live at Stone Mountain” for the first time ever!”
In Carol’s own words:
Jason is one talented guy…a great musician and a great person and we are happy he is coming here to celebrate this new exciting release. Don’t miss it!”
